Plant Manager

Provides overall direction to the site staff to achieve optimum safety, quality and financial performance. Coaches and mentors site leadership team to foster teamwork and collaborative work environment. Develops and manages successful safety program performance for all employees. Applies appropriate improvement techniques to continuously improve customer satisfaction and mill output.

What You'll Do


1. Responsible for the safety performance of the facility
2. By example leads individuals to fulfill the Vision, Values, and Behaviors of the organization
3. Support the fulfilment of legal obligations and of company policies in safety, environment, health and other risk related issues is the considered site
4. Responsible to sponsor and lead projects, process improvement initiatives, and organizational change initiatives; develops, monitors, and coordinates internal and external resources in support of projects
5. Formulates and implements manufacturing policies and programs that guide the facility in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
6. Assists Senior Management and HR Director in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives to improve business performance
7. Facilitates the career growth of subordinates, making them more effective leaders and managers
8. Develops, monitors and reports on operating costs within functional areas
9. Develops the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards
10. Share, learn and reapply best practices into the Site.
11. Manage capability development and knowledge transfer. Provide coaching to Site Leadership team making sure culture and technical mastery development are in focus and evolving.

Must Have Skills

Basic Qualifications

 College degree or equivalent experience

 Minimum 10 years of operations experience with increasing management responsibilities
 Proven effectiveness managing hourly and salaried personnel
 Preference will be given to those having successful experience in the tissue or paper making industry

 Ability to provide appropriate management direction, administration, coaching, follow-up, and personnel development
 Ability to communicate effectively on both written and oral basis
 Communication and Contact: must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
 Relationship with Others: Must work effectively and relate well with others including area leads, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
 The employee must also exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships
 Proven leadership experience
 Significant knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes, quality procedures, equipment, etc.
 General knowledge of our products and sales and sales service
 Technical knowledge of converting, paper manufacturing, maintenance, de-ink process, utilities, and customer needs
 General knowledge of engineering and maintenance procedures
 General knowledge of personnel practices and labor agreements
